On October 5, 2008, at age 53, Kevin Burke passed away after a year long 
battle with cancer. He truly believed that he would beat the odds and never 
stopped fighting. He was not only father to his children but their friend also. His 
grandchildren became the center of his world he loved watching them grow and although 
we cannot see him watching we know he will always be with them. Kevin loved 
watching the New York Mets and the New York Giants, he also loved being out on 
a boat just relaxing or fishing which explains his career choice as a marine mechanic. 
Kevin always had a smile on his face and loved to give out hugs. His sarcastic 
humor lasted until his last few hours, in which he remained very brave.

An author once wrote, “Love is stronger than death, even though it can’t stop death 
from happening, but no matter how hard death tries it can’t separate people from love. 
It can’t take away our memories either. In the end life is stronger than death.”
